Russian-speaking Expert in the CIS Upstream, S&P Global Commodity InsightsVictor is Technical Research Director for the CIS Region. He manages the editorial and research team that covers upstream E&P activities across the region. Having about 40 years of experience in the petroleum industry, he has an in depth knowledge of the geology of Russia, and the CIS countries, including Western Siberia, Sakhalin, Russian Arctic, Caspian and Black Seas and Central Asia. His areas of expertise are in BAsin Analysis, Prospect and Resources Evaluation, Sedimentology and Tectonics, Seismic Analysis (2D and 3D) and Petrophysics.
Prior joining S&P Global in 2000, Victor worked for Pennzoil, helping develop their portfolio with main focus on Azerbaijan and the Gulf of Mexico. He spent the first 15 years of his career as a geologist with ZapSibNIGNI (West Siberian Research Geological Petroleum Institute) which was apart of the Ministry of Geology of the USSR.
Victor has a MSc in Petroleum Geology (Exploration) from the Tyumen Oil & Gas University in Russia and a MSc in Earth Resources Management from the University of South Carolina (USA).
