David Ooi
Associate Director, Upstream Asset Valuation, S&P Global Commodity Insights
David Ooi is an Associate Director for upstream asset valuation in the Asia Pacific region at S&P Global Commodity Insights.David is responsible for valuation analysis and economic modelling of upstream oil and gas assets across the Asia Pacific region. Apart from developing and maintaining detailed valuation analysis as part of the Vantage asset valuation team, he also provides insights and commentary through research pieces.
He is based in the Kuala Lumpur office. Prior to joining the company in 2018, he worked for upstream oil and gas operators including Reach Energy and Tamarind Energy. In these roles, he was involved in asset screening and evaluation and in various capacities across the legal and commercial space including due diligence, opportunity screening, asset valuations and modelling, risk analysis, and corporate communications.
Prior to this, he was with PFC Energy, where he was involved in upstream research and consulting projects. He holds a BSc in economics from the London School of Economics.
