Dr. Tomos Phillips is an Emissions Researcher with the International Upstream team and specializes in the research and modeling of greenhouse gas emissions at Commodity Insights.Tomos is a Senior Specialist at S&P Global Commodity Insights. His work leverages advanced modeling and technical research to provide tailored solutions in the commodities and oil and gas emissions sectors. Tomos's primary responsibilities include the research and modeling of conventional upstream oil and gas assets globally. Tomos is an expert in visualizing and modeling subsurface fluid transport efficiency in the context of carbon capture and storage and enhanced oil recovery. This includes industrial experience (Shell Global Solutions) into the impact of different parameters on leakage and emissions rates.
Tomos holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology, a Master of Science in Petroleum Reservoir Geoscience, a Ph.D. (Doctor of Science) from Ghent University (Belgium), and a Ph.D. degree (Doctor of Philosophy) from Heriot-Watt University (Scotland).
